I think the picture listed is a horizontal picture. The picture follows the law of 3rd's. You not only focus on the tree but you zoom in on the sky and the shadow of the tree and the rocks, and the mountains, and finally the ground.
This image has a strog focus. The picture hass a better effect the fact that it is black and white. The direction the tree is going in makes it siginificant
