Out of School

Mr. Anderson will be out of school Tuesday December 4, 2010.


Music Composition and Technology: Rate and review your favorite television theme song.  Answer these questions:
          1.  Is the theme musically valid?
          2.  Does the theme re-enforce the style of the show, and convey the shows essence?
          3.  Is the theme memorable music? Will it continue to define the show long after the show has been canceled? 

Digital Photography:  Select a photograph of your liking.  Rate and review this photograph, be able to present the photograph to the class.  Answer these questions:
          1.  What compositional style does the photograph represent?
          2.  Has the photograph be "photoshoped"?
          3.  What particular aspects of the photograph truly catches your attention?

Instrumental Ensemble:  "Youtube" Beethoven's Fifth Symphony in C minor.  We have stated that the theme of this is Fate knocking on Beethoven's door.  Answer these questions:
         1.  Was Beethoven successful in communicating his emotions through this piece?
         2.  Historically how would you rate this work in terms of popularity?
         3.  How do you react to this piece.

Music Composition and Technology, and Instrumental Ensemble: Review Eliane Elias' performance of So Danco Samba on Youtube. Talk about her performance, the genre of the music, and decide what language she is singing in. Tell me if you liked it. Email me by end of the day.

Digital Photography: Take two photographs of the same subject. The first photograph should feature the subject in focus and the background out of focus. The second photograph should feature the subject out of focus and the background in focus. Instrumental Ensemble: District People, practice your pieces!!! Everyone else email me(danderson@fontbonneacademy.org) a review of the last musical event you attended. This could be a concert. musical, or even a circus. (Cirque du Soleil) No more than a paragraph and send it to me by end of school.

Photo Recreation

Take photographs which emulates both the Ansel Adams' shot of Georgia O'Keefe and Wilber Cox and the Annie Liebowitz shot of John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd as the Blues Brothers. Pay attention to the spacing between the subjects and to the photographer's point of view. Experiment with the angle of the shot and with various backgrounds.
