I am sorry for being late with this posting, the last one was in April, but the time just flew by.

April News
Hello Everyone
Happy April to all and lets get ready for Spring!!!!! Good luck to all the Spring Sport teams and congrats again to the Hockey Team for winning the State Championship.
The Evening of the Arts takes place on April 16, with an Art Exhibit starting at 6:30 (pm) in the Foyer and the Spring Concert starting at 7:00 (pm) in the auditorium. The suggested donation is $3.00, so come on out and support your school, and enjoy the evening. Remember the next week is spring vacation.
Tech and Research Classes:
We will finish our presentations of the "Healthy Cheeseburger " assignment
Music Comp and Tech Class:
We will finish our "poetry" project and film either the "poetry" or the "techno" projects for the Evening of the Arts
Instrumental Ensemble:
We are getting ready for the concert. 7:15 (am) rehearsals on Monday and Wednesday.
Thursday rehearsal at 4:00 (pm).
Remember black pants and white shirts for the performance
Lets play well and have fun

All State Music Conference
Hello Everyone
I will be attending the All State Music Conference Thursday March 26 and Friday March 27.
Tech and Research Class Assignment:
WORD TASK
Using Headers, Margins, Images, and Paragraph Indents
ENDANGERED SPECIES
1. Select an endangered species and research it on the Internet.
List of endangered species:

2. Write a 3-5 paragraph essay, 1 page report in Word. Place your name and date in a header at the top of the page, use 1” margins and indent each paragraph.
3. Report should include the following:
a. Describe your species
b. Give some background about its habits, where it comes from, etc.
c. Explain why it is important this species be saved and the steps you recommend to save it.
d. Include an image of your species in your report
This assignment is due the first class meeting next week. (March 30)
Instrumental Ensemble:
Present a critique of your favorite musician or musical group. Include audio, video or other media to describe this artist.
Discuss:
The genre of the music
The impact this musician has on culture
The impact this musician has on fashion
Why do you like this musician or group
Presentations will be on Monday March 30.
Music Composition and Technology
Prepare a sales pitch for your techno fashion and music project. Be able to sell me on how good the project is and what you perceive is influence will be.
Presentations should include samples of the music, and samples of the fashions. Discuss the target audience of the project and the expected impact the project will have on both fashion and music.
Presentations will begin on March 30.

Mrs. Lathrop will be conducting class this cycle starting on Wednesday. Give her your attention, as she will guide you in the research process.
Instrumental Ensemble:
We will start a new piece call Strange Meeting by my friend Bill Frisell. He is a very famous musician. Look up his website. Continue with the Bach Minuet as well.
Music Composition and Technology:
Present your film score of the Birds scene. We will discuss every one's work

Hello and Welcome Tech and Research Classes
Hello Everyone
Welcome to the new Tech and Research sections. Bye bye to the Digital Photography sections. I reallly did enjoy the Digital Photography class. We are now into the second cycle of the second semester.
Digital Photography:
Your final projects will be returned this week. Look for me.
Music Composition and Technology:

- Finish your "spotting" of the school house scene from the Birds.
- Start to compose your film score for that scene.
- Project due end of the second cycle.
Instrumental Ensemble:
- Rehearse the Bach Minuet.
- Part time members be sure to pick up parts for the Bach Minuet.
- See me to establish a rehearsal time.

- One page ethics paper.
- Cell Phone Survey.
- Describe the You tube presentation of Julie's Journey in six words.

- Re-Read the Portfolio directive.
- Make sure I know what the subject of your portfolio is.
- Check with CVS (or somewhere) regarding turn around time for your prints. Do not be late because of potential turn around problems.
- Review sheet and quiz this week.
- Be ready for a review and quiz.
- Your alternative assessment is a PowerPoint promoting a product of your choice.
- Original music is to be included.
Instrumental Ensemble:
- Be able to perform these scales:
- C Major
- G Major
- F Major
- Be able to perform a solo for the Mid Term
